Now a part of Stellantis Group, Chrysler is making the transition to electric vehicles with technological input and engineering sharing from its group-mate automakers Peugeot and Citroën. While its transition to full EVs is forthcoming, Chrysler has made one of the most popular PHEVs in the US: the Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid.
The Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid is the only plug-in minivan available today and the only plug-in hybrid currently produced by Chrysler. It’s also one of the best-selling plug-in hybrids on US roads, selling over 14,392 units in 2022 alone.
Stellantis is investing billions of dollars into electrification, creating four EV platforms that will be shared with every member of the 14-automaker strong group, including Chrysler: STLA Small, STLA Medium, STLA Large and STLA Frame. The fruition of Chrysler's EV efforts culiminated in the 400hp 400-mile range Chrysler Airflow SUV concept. Debuting at CES 2022 and a projected release date of 2025, the Airflow demonstrates where Chrysler's EV future lies as it transitions to a fully electric line-up by 2028.
