Charging the Genesis GV60

Everything drivers need to know about the Genesis GV60

Launched in 2022, the GV60 was much anticipated as a compact crossover entrant for the brand that’s primarily concentrated on larger vehicles at launch. The GV60 competes against smaller compact electric crossovers in the segment such as the Volvo XC40 & C40 twins.

Uniquely Genesis, the GV60 incorporates the brand’s signature split head and tail LED lights, giving it a more futuristic look to go with its swooping, coupe like hatchback body style. Drivers are treated to many high-end features exclusive to Genesis, including Face Connect to unlock the vehicle,  control infotainment, a crystal ball shifter, and Remote Smart Parking Assist. Being built on the E-GMP platform comes with its own benefits as well including 350 kW DC fast charging and vehicle-to-load (V2L) capabilities.

Charging the Genesis GV60

Charging the Genesis GV60 is similar to other E-GMP based EVs from Hyundai Group, including its ultra-fast DC fast charging speeds. GV60 drivers have the choice of rear or all-wheel drive models in single or dual motor configurations. Having anywhere from 225 horsepower to 429 horsepower gives the compact EV more than enough pep in its step, accelerating the crossover to 60 mph in 4.0 seconds. Regardless of trim, drivers receive a 77.4 kWh battery capable of 11 kW Level 2 charging and 350 kW DC fast charging.

Having a Level 2 charger at home that can take advantage of the Genesis’ charging speeds is essential to experiencing all the benefits owning an EV brings. A smart charger like the JuiceBox 48 can fully charge the Genesis GV60 overnight and allow drivers to schedule charging times and monitor session and energy usage.
