Proposed Wisconsin tax on EV charging could help fund new chargers

ABC News featured Enel X Way's August blog post on the cost to charge an electric vehicle (EV) in their recent coverage of Wisconsin's proposed tax on public DC fast charging.

The midwest state counted 17,000 EVs registed, up from just 3,500 four years prior. With the growing interest in EVs, the state is proposing a $0.03/kW tax on energy dispensed from Level 3 DC fast chargers (new and pre-existing stations). Level 1 and Level 2 AC chargers would be exempt from this tax.
